About College : Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj is 88 years old renowned educations institute in the state of Maharashtra, established in 1914. It was one of the greatest milestones in the pre -independence history of Nashik. The well being in general and education in particular were considered the sole of human being.

The great visonaries of MVP Samaj rightly laid the “Well being & happiness of masses” as the motto for the samaj. The founders of the samaj were inspired and driven by the great work of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and Rajarhi Shahu Chhatrapati of Kolhapur.

The Karmaveer Shantarambapu Kondaji Wavare Arts, Science and Commerce College is one of the leading institute of MVP Samaj and was established in June 1993 and is affiliated to the University of Pune.  It is Located at Uttamnagar, CIDCO.  The College is housed in two sprawling buildings right in the heart of New Nashik.  The College offers degree programs in Arts, Commerce, Science and Computer Science.  It is one of the famous colleges in Nasik district.  The college has earned a name and fame due to its academic excellence, regularity and punctuality of its rigorous routine, high standard of discipline, administrative control and a progressive outlook to serve the Society.  The college provides education in 22 subjects At Degree Level, 8 Subjects at Post Graduate Level.

Spacious Play ground, indoor outdoor games, gymnasium facilities, and computerized library with a collection of 35,485 Books, spacious reading hall, Health Centre, Placement Cell, Competitive Examinations Guidance Cell, Well equipped Computer Laboratories, Language Laboratories for English, Marathi and Hindi, Psychology Laboratory, Internet Hub etc.  are some of the salient features of the college.  There are several rank holders to the credit of college.  The college has a staff of about 133 consisting of 91 Teachers and 42 non- teachings.  The senior College has well qualified Faculty of about 50 teachers out of which 13 are Ph.D., 20 are holding M.Phil and other higher academic qualifications.  The teachers regularly contribute to social and cultural activates along with there teaching work.  Many of them work on various academic bodies of the University, Government and also hold key post in academic, social, cultural and professional sectors of the society.  Teachers of this college have published research papers in various reputed journals; some of them are regular authors of well- known newspaper articles.  16 teachers from this college have received Ideal / Best teacher Awards. Our teachers contribute in distant learning through YCMOU Study Centre.  A college consistently organized Workshops, Seminars Symposia etc.  for the motivation of the teachers and students.  Many of the Facility members are actively engaged in research.  20 Minor and 10 Major research projects received grant from UGC in different subjects:  Marathi, Hindi, English, Geography, Politics, Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Microbiology, and Commerce etc.  This college has adopted the village Girnare & constructed continuous contour trenches soak pits etc.  Our teachers and students have worked in rescue operations as volunteers during kumbha Mela and actively contributed in Akhil Bhartiya Sahitya  Sammelan.  The college is actively participating in environmental awareness and people education about pollution.

The college conducts coaching for Competitive Examinations Such as UPSC/ MPSC Staff selection etc.  In the year 2011-2012 three students from college became PSI .The College conducts spoken English Courses in collaborations with MVP Samajs Academy for Communication in English.  The College has advanced computing facility with latest hardware and necessary software.  The college is providing Broadband Internet facility to all the departments and common facility for the students since 2006.  The National Assessment And Accreditation Council (NAAC) Bangalore Accredited this College in March 2011 and Awarded A Grade.
