Mahatma Gandhi Vidyamandir’s, Institute Of Industrial And Pharmaceutical Technology, Panchavati, Nasik (Diploma pharmacy) was established in1972 by, Late Hon’ble Vyankatraoji Hiray. It was during 1970’s he recognized the need to train healthcare professionals to support the national goal “Health for all”. He recognized that Pharmacists plays a crucial role for well being of a nation and there is strong need to provide responsible pharmacist in the society by high quality educational training. He realized that Maharashtra a technically advanced state as far as the pharmaceutical industry was concerned requires a large number of pharmacists for the industrial sector and well being of the society. Considering the above fact it was important then that technical manpower be created in pharmacy by inception of new pharmacy colleges in the state. With this aspiration in mind Late Hon’ble Vyankatraoji Hiray started the first Diploma course in pharmacy in Nashik District which widened the scope of career selection and satisfied the growth demands for professional courses. After his unfortunate and untimely demise in the year 1980, his wife Smt. Pushpatai Hiray devoted her services for the continuance of the work. Today Mahatma Gandhi Vidyamandir’s trust is globalised under the able leadership of the General Secretary, Hon’ble Dr. Prashant V Hiray. In the light of the mission of the trust which is further nurtured and supported by Hon’ble Dr. Aapoorva Prashant Hiray and Hon. Dr. Advay Prashant Hiray who never lost the sight of mission “BAHUJAN HITAYA, BAHUJAN SUKHAYA” (‘Benefit and Happiness of one and all’) have kindled the torch of life through education to the less privileged rural and tribal children. Hon’ble Dr. Aapoorva Prashant Hiray. is the coordinator of Mahatma Gandhi Vidyamandir and is actively involved in enhancing the quality education in the era of competitive globalization through his dedicated efforts.
